Blue Institute Co-Founder and Director Ralph Chami was selected to receive a prestigious award in Madrid in April 2024.
The MadBlue Summit Five Oceans Award 2024 was awarded to Ralph (and three other sustaiability leaders) at a gala ceremony in Madrid. The annual award aims to recognise the very best of innovation, science and culture that supports sustainable development, especially aligned to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Dr Chami was lauded for his work progressing the field of “science-based finance”, developing a framework for valuing natural capital, fauna and flora, in order to build an equitable and nature-positive economy.
